Homemaker Personal Care – THS staff is capable of providing a wide range of homemaker and personal care services for individuals. These services may include activities such as; assistance with bathing and dressing, restroom assistance, meal preparation, assistance with mobility and light house cleaning. Each service an individual receives is specifically outlined in their ISP, and our caregivers are fully trained on the needs of each Individual. Often individuals are interested in increasing independence in certain aspects of their care and services. THS staff members are eager to help individuals with becoming more independent with personal care activities by implementing skill development goals identified in an ISP. Medical Care Coordination and Delegated Nursing – A THS Registered Nurse is available to assist individuals with setting all medical, psychological, and therapy appointments. Staff accompanying individuals to appointments take all doctor orders in writing and submit needed follow-up information to one of our registered nurses for review and implementation. THS has contracts with local pharmacies to fill and deliver medications to the homes of individuals we serve.
Our staff is able to administer medications to individuals who need assistance or total support with taking their medications. All THS staff who administers medications undergo medication certification programs conducted by our staff RN. We do not outsource our medication training or delegation program, all trainings and delegations are done by the THS Registered Nurses. Staff is capable of administering oral and topical medications as well as insulin testing and injections. Staff is also capable of providing delegated nursing tasks such as G-tube feedings as needed. All delegated tasks are overseen by the THS registered nurses, who are available to assist our staff 24 hours a day. Behavioral Services – THS has a Quality Assurance Director on staff who works closely with specialists at the county boards to create, implement and track the progress of behavior support plans for the individuals at THS who need them. Our Quality Assurance Director trains all staff on behavior support plans and is available as a consultant to individuals or our staff needing assistance 24 hours a day. The THS Quality Assurance Director attends all meetings regarding the care, implementation and management of an Individuals behavior plan. Any staff working with an individual with a behavior support plan undergoes our Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training program. This program provides staff with the tools necessary to adequately care for and provide supports to individuals with behavioral challenges. Payeeship Services – THS provides payeeship services for any individual requesting this service. Our Financial Manager will work with an individual and their support team to create a budget that matches their resources. Each Individual has their own bank account from which all monthly bills and expenses are paid, eliminating the possibility of fraud or abuse. Individuals receive their own bank cards and cash allocated as spending money to use as outlined in their ISP. All records of purchases are tracked electronically to ensure that funds are spent appropriately by staff. The Financial Manager also works with the employers of the individual and the Social Security Administration to set up deposits and maintain eligibility of benefits such as Medicaid. Transportation Services – Transportation is often a challenge for those in our community with disabilities. THS is committed not to allow transportation challenges to stand in the way of an individual's right to go out into our community. Our staff is capable of transporting individuals we serve anytime they are scheduled to work. We are also able to provide or arrange for accessible transportation to those who need it. Personal Shopping Services – Our staff are happy to assist with grocery shopping or shopping for clothing and any other items. We can provide transportation, assistance with money management, mobility assistance and companionship during shopping trips in the community. THS staff is also able to shop on behalf of individuals we serve if the individual is unable to go shopping in the community. Community Outings – THS is committed to “Enhancing the Lives in the Communities We Serve”. In order for us to realize our commitment, individuals we serve are encouraged to be a part of our community, not just live in it. We believe all individuals have a right to contribute and be engaged in our community. Everyone at THS works to provide opportunities for the individuals we serve to become engaged in what goes on outside of their home. Our staff enjoys having the opportunity to assist individuals in going to parks, recreational activities, shopping destinations, festivals, movies, community gatherings or anything else that interests those we serve. We are excited to share ideas and opportunities for recreational activities and other forms of community engagement to any of the individuals we serve. Not only is community engagement beneficial to those we serve, it also is rewarding for our staff and enriches our community.
