If it wasn't for THS I would be a lost person because they helped me out a lot.  I truly appreciate it and they are all very caring people.

I am the guardian of one of THS's clients.  More importantly,  I am the mom. These two roles can clash as he is my only child, spoiled and a real momma's boy.   

THS has always respected my role as the guardian and as his mom.  They support me, take my wishes into consideration when making decisions and provide the best direct care staff for him.   All clients are not the same and they treat each one as an individual.  He is just like us,  does not like everyone and if that happens THS will do some rearranging to make it good.

Since being with THS he is out and about in the community,  experiencing life and friendship.

He has grown so much.  The staff always shares his accomplishments, his smiles and his mischievous antics with me. Even though he is non-verbal he calls me nearly every day and with their help I always knows what he is telling me. 

Is it perfect?  No.  But life isn't perfect and THS strives to be and to do their very best.  My son is well cared for,  is happy and absolutely loves those around him. I can leave him and know he is safe.  I have peace of mind

"I am my brother’s, Steve, guardian.  Total Home Care Solutions has been Steve’s home care provider for about 5 ½ years.  The care and attention that Steve gets from THS is amazing.  Steve is very happy with the staff that take care of him and they know and care about him and his well-being.   Steve lives in a duplex with another guy and I stop there weekly so I can check on my brother and to get to know the staff.  They will let me know if there is anything out of the ordinary going on and is always looking out for Steve and his roommate.  

Amy H. is the Program Manager and over Steve’s house and staff.   If I see a problem all I have to do is let Amy know and it is taken care of.  Amy has always been easy to talk to and willing to make the necessary changes.  When placing a caregiver in their home, Amy always considers the guys needs and personality and will hire the best person for them.  If there is a problem with a caregiver, Amy will handle the issue immediately and even ask for my opinion if needed.  She always keeps me updated as new caregivers start in their home.  Bryan J., Executive Director, has also helped me with issues or when Amy is out of the office.  Again, he is very easy to talk to and on top of things.  Steve comes home with family every other weekend, by Sunday or sooner, he is ready to go home and has no problem letting us know.  That right there says a lot!!!

THS is also Steve’s payee in which Beki L. handles.   Beki does a great job with this and I know his money is being handled properly because of the monthly ledgers I receive.  I see all income and expenses and if I have question, Beki is available to answer them.

THS also has a nurse on staff which is very helpful.  Kelli F. keeps up with all his appointments and makes sure all his annual appointments are made.  If I have any question regarding his medical issues, Kelli is there to help and answer my question.  I always receive a report regarding his appointments and the results.

As my brother’s guardian, I am very pleased with the care he is getting and so thankful for the staffs hard work they provide for Steve’s care and happiness.  It is so nice that I can trust Amy and staff to do what is best for Steve."

My son is currently a client of THS. Prior to THS, he was in a residential facility for two and a half years due to aggressive behavior. I was really worried when it came time for him to transition out of the facility to a less restrictive environment. THS did a wonderful job training staff and made sure that the transition went as smoothly as possible. My son is currently in his own place and overall I am really impressed with THS and their staff. They are very attentive to his needs and handle his behaviors very well. I would recommend THS for training and staffing.

I just wanted to take a minute to show my appreciation for Tiffany Beaver. She is so committed to the guys at Union and it really shows. Her amazing communication and knowledge of the guys is extremely helpful. I wish all the program managers I work with were like her! Tiffany is a true blessing to the team and we could not do the things we do without her. The guys at Union are very lucky to have her on their side.

Our Son who is autistic and brain-injured, entered Total Homecare Solutions in December, 2008. He was an angry, uncooperative, young man who also had run-ins with the law. This was not the Son we knew who lived with us through 26 years, Previously, he was with 2 other agencies before THS. We could not understand what was happening to this change in attitude and behavior. We were desperate!

We went with THS because they showed constant care for each of their clients. Immediately a plan was put into place that would meet his needs yet hold him responsible. Staff was chosen who could understand what he required and how to implement such measures.

​

Today our Son is happy, co-operative, and has made great strides. He volunteers 4 days a week at an animal shelter, plays Special Olympics basketball and softball. And he keeps improving in attitude and judgement. He is a pleasure to be around.  We credit THS for this positive progress.

I am an individual with cerebral palsy. I am 36 and have lived on my own since I was 18. The agency I was with before didn’t let me have any input regarding my staff, although I never complained only asked. THS has helped me find a new place to live, find a job and is helping me move to an even better apt. The directors helped me move and even helped me make my apt. more accessible. They also helped me get an iPod and a laptop. I highly recommend THS!

September of 2011, I was searching for placement of my mentally & physically disabled 49-year-old brother. He had been living with my parents in a home. Our Dad died in early 2009 and by fall 2010, our mother was experiencing the early stages of dementia. When I contacted Hamilton County DDS, they assisted me in finding an opening in a house specifically built for the disabled, where my brother would have his own room. There were 3 other clients living at this location. The staff was 24-hour care provided by Total Homecare Services. This was my first experience with having any family member in this setting and of course I had a lot of apprehension if he would be adequately cared for.

Now that 15 months have gone by, I feel comfortable that my brother is getting not only his needs met, but is well taken care of by the THS staff. Every time I visit him, he is clean, in a well-kept home environment with his own belongings. The staff is accommodating to me when I ask questions. I had a staff member

accompany my brother to a family gathering on Thanksgiving and I cannot compliment him enough for his help to me & enabling my brother to join in.

My brother is moving around more, doing more activities than my mother could deal with and seems very satisfied with his living arrangement. From my experience, THS monitors their staff & makes sure they are handling the needs of their clients in an orderly capable manner. I appreciate that I do not have to constantly worry about how my brother is being cared for.

Your Agency has worked with my son, Jeremy, for close to 4 years. Jeremy, who is 21 today, is still in High School. He is autistic, pretty low functioning, with minimal verbal behavior and very little ability to initiate communication. Jeremy is still in High School.

During the school year, THS staff takes him out after school for 3 hours on weekdays, and for 4 hours on weekends. During the summer, they work with him for 5 hours on weekdays and 4 hours on weekends. They take him for recreation, such as swimming and walking, and out in the community to stores and parks. He also eats lunch out on weekends and during the summer days.

I have enjoyed working with THS staff during this period. THS has done a terrific job in finding people who are dependable and kind, and who like Jeremy. Jeremy is incredibly well behaved most of the time, but he has had instances of destructive or aggressive behavior. THS staff have coped with this as needed. They have received training and input from agency staff and from Jeremy’s parents.

Overall, Jeremy and I are satisfied with the

performance of THS as an agency and with THS staff. If asked, I would recommend them to other parents.

Hi, my name is M. Matthews and I have been with THS

for 3 years and I have really enjoyed my time with them. Over the years I have grown close to administration and caregivers who have become more like a second family to me. Due to my condition I was bedridden for many years until I had my hip surgery where I could sit in a wheelchair. It was THS who made it possible for me to actually sit in a restaurant and eat there, which I hadn’t done in about 7 years.
